MountainChild Staff in Kathmandu, together with other anti-trafficking organizations, spent this past Tuesday afternoon wrapping Christmas gifts for the women and girls working in the sex industry of Nepal.

On December 13th, all of these organizations and individuals will gather forces to go to these women in three different parts of Kathmandu. Through our gifts and time, we hope to show love to them as well as a way out of the sex industry. Believe with us that an END will come to human trafficking and all other kinds of exploitation!

Thank you to all of you who donated for this cause. These gifts directly come from YOU!

Christmas Gifts for Women in Nepal's Sex Industry

MountainChild is carrying hope to women in the sex industry of Nepal this Christmas.

MountainChild is partnering with other anti-trafficking organizations in Nepal and will be venturing out to distribute Christmas gifts, pray for, encourage, serve, offer hope and alternatives for women and children trapped in sexual exploitation.

On December 13, we will be visiting Cabin Restaurants (these ’restaurants’ do not serve food… in most cases they are a front for brothels) in various locations around Kathmandu. MountainChild and the other organizations each offer unique alternatives to sex work such as counseling, art therapy, skills training and alternate work placement, as well as rescue and safe homes.  What an opportunity we have to carry hope to those bound in sex trafficking in Nepal! On our Christmas wish list this year let us hope for recovery and freedom for these exploited women in Nepal.  Here is a very tangible way in which you can get involved!

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU? You can help by DONATING financially for Christmas gifts for the women.

We would like to give each woman a gift wrapped package that includes items from 3 categories: one make-up item (mascara, nail polish, lipstick), one hygiene item (body soap, shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste & toothbrush), and one sanitary item (cold cream, tissue, wet wipes).  Our goal is to purchase each item for at least $3 (at least $9 for 3 items per person). Between the various locations we’ll be going to, we have the potential of meeting up to 250 women during this outreach, therefore, we need at least 250 items from all three of the above categories (that’s about 750 items).

WILL YOU HELP US BY DONATING MONEY FOR THESE ITEMS?

You can go to the MountainChild website and click the ‘Donate’ Tab (or click on this link http://www.mountainchild.org/donate) and specify your giving for “Christmas Traffick” and the money will go directly to purchasing gifts for these women and children.

Thank you for carrying hope this Christmas to Nepal and helping in the
fight to end human trafficking.
