Get out of your box by taking the trip of a lifetime to the rooftop of the world. Join the MountainChild mission in Nepal and carry hope to the disadvantaged children of the Himalayas while taking in the world’s most breathtaking scenery. The accepted applicant will be assigned a local MountainChild representative who will walk you through every step of the preparation process in advance of your trip to Nepal. Upon arrival into Kathmandu you will be greeted at the airport by a national MountainChild staff member who will serve as your guide and friend for the entire duration of your stay in Nepal.

An advanced 2-month internship and training is available for those who have completed at least two MountainChild EXPLORE trips. Accepted applicants will be assigned to one of the MountainChild bases in the Himalayas for their two month internship. Interns will be assigned to a vast array of mission duties including; conducting research amongst remote mountain tribes, survival training, involvement at the RANCH, leadership and mentoring by seasoned MountainChild staff, and specific training on current trends and methods in the frontier mission world. Interns will spend several weeks hiking into remote areas while carrying out specific MountainChild objectives.

Field placement with MountainChild is reserved for those eager to make the long-term investment into the stated MountainChild strategic vision and objectives. Summit staff will work closely alongside existing MountainChild BaseCamp foreign and national staff members. Summit team members are required to have successfully completed an ASCEND internship and passed a rigorous selection process with heavy emphasis on character, leadership, organizational skills, physical conditioning and a strong ability to work within a team environment. Advanced training will be provided by team of highly experienced and long-term MountainChild directors. Summit team members will engage in a wide host of frontline mission activities including; ethnographical research, strategic coordinator training, platform development, mountain survival training, leadership development and cross cultural communication training.
